Tap to Pay on Android
Accept contactless cards and wallets on a compatible Android device through Stripe Terminal.
Last updated 13 September 2026
On a compatible Android device, choose Tap to Pay at the till. Stripe shows where the customer should tap. Contactless bank cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay from another phone, Samsung Pay and other supported NFC wallets are accepted as card-present payments. There is no separate Google Pay checkout in POS.
Tap to Pay on Android uses the same Stripe connected account as iPhone Tap to Pay and the WisePad. There is no extra Cobbtree Google merchant account.
Stripe requires Android 13 or later, NFC, Google Play, a recent security patch, and Developer options off. Use a native release build. An emulator cannot prove real NFC Tap to Pay.
